After the first Gundam TV series in 1979, Bandai released a bunch on model kits based on the robots from the show. A group of fans, calling themselves Stream Base used these models to make their own versions of Gundam MS. When Bandai wanted to make more models kits, they used these fan-created conversions as the basis of a new line of models called MSV, Mobile Suit Variations.

Since then, fans and professional mecha designers alike have taken to making their own versions of mobile suits. Some of these design become embraced by Bandai and fans, finding themselves made as model kits or working their way into video games--some designs are better left forgotten.

5/23/01 -- I changed this section around. I deleted a number of drawing that I felt were really poor and have replaced and added new ones. I was rather embassed at the crudity of some of the earlier drawings, but they are gone now. Check out the new stuff.
